Automotive Service Technology

Automotive Service Technology 1 (T400700)

The purpose of this program is to prepare students for employment and/or specialized training in the automotive industry. It is recommended that students enrolling in this program have a valid driver's license. 

The content includes, but is not limited to, planning, management, finance, technical and product skills, underlying principles of technology, labor issues, community issues and health, safety, and environmental issues.

George Stone Technical Center is a Certified National Automotive Training Education Foundation (NATEF) Center. Upon completion of the program, students are prepared o take the Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) exams for ASE certification. The sequence of OCP's after completing the core OCP A is at the discretion of the instructor. It should be noted that NATEF requires a minimum certification in four occupational areas (Brakes, Electrical/Electronics, Engine Performance and Suspension/Steering) for program certification.
